Colombia and Switzerland have signed a series of bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening economic and social cooperation. The agreements cover pensions, healthcare, technology, and investments. The signing took place in Bogotá, with officials from both countries present.

The agreements include measures to improve pension systems, enhance healthcare services, promote technological collaboration, and facilitate investment flows. Colombia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of these agreements for economic development and social welfare. Switzerland’s ambassador to Colombia highlighted the mutual benefits of the cooperation.

This marks the first major bilateral agreement between the two nations in over a decade. Previous discussions focused on trade and environmental policies, but this agreement expands the scope of cooperation. The agreements are expected to take effect within six months, with implementation phases scheduled for 2025. The move comes amid efforts by Colombia to diversify its international partnerships and attract foreign investment.
